Detailed Itinerary, 14 Day Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holidays
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted at Kilimanjaro International Airport or your designated arrival point by our representative and safari manager. You will then be transferred to the Ilboru Safari Lodge near Arusha, where you will receive a safari briefing and have the opportunity to relax before your safari begins the following day.

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, the third-largest park in Tanzania and a renowned theater of wildlife. This park offers incredible opportunities to witness diverse wildlife and marvel at the awe-inspiring sights of the massive baobab trees scattered throughout. The Tarangire River, the park's lifeline, attracts abundant wildlife, particularly during the dry season, as animals gather to access this precious resource. Wildlife commonly spotted includes lions, elephants, leopards, oryx, dik-diks, and numerous bird species. In the afternoon, proceed to Sangaiwe Tented Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Tarangire - Lake Manyara National Park
An early morning game drive is highly recommended for those interested. After breakfast, you will depart Tarangire National Park and head to Lake Manyara National Park. This small yet stunning park is renowned for its legendary tree-climbing lions and a diverse array of large and small mammals. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of the park's many picnic sites, or if preferred, a hot lunch can be arranged at the lodge before returning for afternoon game drives. In the late afternoon, you will proceed to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at Marera Valley Lodge . All meals are included.

Day 4: Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro Crater Tour
If staying in the Manyara/Mto wa Mbu area, depart from Manyara in the morning after breakfast. Drive via Karatu town to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon registration at the Loduare Gate, continue your drive up to the Crater rim, where your first stop will be at the View Point. From here, you’ll enjoy stunning views over the Crater floor before descending the 600-meter walls for an exciting game drive. In this world’s largest unbroken caldera, you may be lucky enough to spot the Big Five in one day. Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for its exceptional concentration of wildlife, and among the species you can encounter are zebras, topis, elands, warthogs, hartebeests, and many others. The list of wildlife is endless. In the late afternoon, we ascend back to the Crater Rim and check in at Ngorongoro Farm House, where all meals are included.

Day 5: Olduvai - Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge at Ngorongoro and drive to Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the fossils of a hominid called Australopithecus Boisei. This discovery led to the theory that Africa is the cradle of mankind. At Olduvai Gorge, you will receive a brief lecture about the discovery and the theory behind it. Following the lecture, you will continue your journey to the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate, where you will stop briefly for registration. On this day, you will enjoy a picnic lunch and then embark on a game drive across the plains for the rest of the afternoon. Afterward, you will drive to the Serengeti Tortilis Camp, or a similar camp in central Serengeti, for dinner and overnight accommodation. All meals are included.

Day 6: Full day Serengeti National Park.
On this day, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on a morning game drive at dawn (if you wish), where you can witness nocturnal animals retiring and diurnal species awakening to start a new day under the beautiful African sunrise. Afterward, you will return to the lodge or camp for breakfast, then set off with a lunch box for a full day of game drives across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the Great Migration, a remarkable event where over a million wildebeests, along with zebras and gazelles, move together in the largest mass migration of animals on the planet. Other resident wildlife includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, topis, elands, dik-diks, baboons, and many more. The Serengeti is also renowned for its incredible variety of bird species. Overnight at Serengeti Tortilis Camp or a similar camp in central Serengeti. All meals are included.

Day 7: Serengeti – Flight to Zanzibar Island.
You have the option for an early morning game drive at dawn, but if you prefer not to go, you can enjoy breakfast before driving to the Seronera Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar Island. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you and transfer you to the Ocean Paradise Resort, where you will check in and have time to relax. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Beach Resort.

Day 8 to 12: Beach resort Zanzibar.
These days are spent at a beach resort in Zanzibar, where you can choose from a variety of water sports and activities offered at the on-site Diving Club, or simply relax and enjoy the resort. After all, it’s a beach vacation. Diving in Zanzibar can be arranged in advance or spontaneously at the resort.

Day 13: Stone town and Zanzibar Spice tour.
After breakfast on this day, check out of the beach resort and drive to the Spice plantations of Zanzibar. At one of these legendary plantations, we will explore the history of the spice island and learn about the spices and fruits introduced by explorers from the Arab world and Europe. You will also have the opportunity to sample a delicious lunch featuring local Swahili dishes. In the afternoon, we head to Stone Town for a tour of this ancient town, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will wander through narrow alleys and streets, visiting landmarks such as the cathedrals, the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, and the People's Palace. This is also a great opportunity to purchase spices and souvenirs. The evening will be spent at Tembo House Hotel in Stone Town.

Day 14: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport - Departure.
Depending on your flight schedule and departure location, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your return flight home. If you are flying out of Dar es Salaam or Nairobi, we will arrange a connecting flight to ensure you catch your flight back home.
